Press Releases: 3. Kayla Mortellaro Sponsorship
HERE COME THE ‘AWESOME’ GIRLS
Two elite professional female golfers competing across the Ladies PGA Tour, Symetra Tour and major world golf events will dazzle spectators in 2013 after securing sponsorship deals with Scotland’s most spectacular golf clothing brand, Royal & Awesome.
22-year old LPGA tour professional Kayla Mortellaro, joins Laura Kueny from the Symetra Tour, the LPGA’s official developmental tour to the Royal & Awesome ranks for the 2013 season.
Mortellaro, 22, who was successful qualifying for the LPGA on her first attempt in December competed this month in the ISPS Handa Women´s Australian Open, where current world number one Yani Tseng finished in second place. Mortellaro will represent Royal & Awesome starting in the next LPGA event, The Donnelley Founder's Cup on March 17 in Phoenix, Arizona.
Mortellaro said: “I am so excited to be supported this season by Royal & Awesome and I plan to have great fun in what will be my first season on the LPGA Tour – competing at the very highest level. I am hoping that I can turn a few heads with both the quality of my golf and my new clothing!”
Royal & Awesome brand director Graeme Smeaton said: “We are thrilled to be able to support Kayla and Laura this season. We hope that the girls have great fun competing in there ‘awesome’ uniforms, giving them an extra edge over their competitors”.
Edinburgh based Royal & Awesome are also keen to support golfers on the Ladies European Tour and hope to make a further announcement shortly.
Royal & Awesome’s range of eye-catching golf trousers, shorts and hats are ‘perfect for the pars and the bars’. The brand has recently launched plus-twos as well as women’s pants, shorts and skorts in their dazzling designs, complemented by a range of men’s and women’s shirts, socks and belts.
The ‘Awesomes’ – the brand’s range of brightly designed golf trousers – build on the wonderful heritage and history of golf in Scotland by adding a whole lot of fun and colour, and are guaranteed to make an impact on the course, the clubhouse or the corporate jolly. All of their ‘bottoms’ come with a free golf tool/bottle opener, which is a nod to their strap line of ‘for the pars and the bars’.
