Scotland’s newest and most spectacular golf clothing brand, Royal & Awesome, celebrates its first anniversary this month and will mark the occasion with a raft of giveaways and competitions on its popular Facebook page, during this year’s US Masters (April 11-14).
With first-year sales in excess of £250,000 and a growing Facebook following of more than 55,000 golfers, Royal & Awesome has much to celebrate including its products featuring in a multi-million pound advertising campaign for Procter & Gamble’s flagship detergent brand, Ariel.
Graeme Smeaton, Royal & Awesome’s brand director, said: “We have had a hugely positive first year with a great response from consumers and the trade.
“We have learnt a huge amount about the golf industry and are pleased with our first year’s sales, and we are now in a fantastic position for future growth.
The Masters weekend is always the real start to the golf season, so having some fun on our Facebook page is a great chance for us to celebrate what we’ve achieved so far, reward our fans for their contribution and get everyone really excited about the months ahead.”
The brand is already worn by professional golfers on the Canadian PGA Tour, LPGA tour and the Ladies European Tour, as well as being donned by thousands of avid golfers across the globe on a weekly basis.
Royal & Awesome’s global ambitions are supported by a distribution network across Europe, USA and Australia. The Edinburgh-based company has regularly added to their range over the last year and now have collections for men and women including trousers, shorts, skorts, plus twos, shirts and accessories. Royal & Awesome is now working on new eye-catching designs across its range and hope that the new designs prove as popular as the current top seller, aptly called Old Tom Trews, after golf’s famous Scottish forefather.
The Masters Weekender party will feature a range of competitions, sweepstakes and giveaways. Royal & Awesome will also give prizes to fans in a range of categories – including Best Accessorised Awesomes and Most Awesome Group. All of this will take place between Thursday 11th and Sunday 13th April.
Royal & Awesome was launched last April by AFG Media, the founders of the renowned costume brand MorphsuitsTM, which boasts annual sales of more than £10m.
